What is WE Reach?
WE Reach is a flagship programme by WE Hub, Telangana’s pioneering incubator for women-led startups and initiatives. With a clear focus on grassroots entrepreneurship, this initiative targets aspiring women from smaller towns and rural regions — the often-overlooked segments of India’s growing economy.
Launched by Hyderabad Collector Hari Chandana Dasari, the first two cohorts of WE Reach have already onboarded 120 women entrepreneurs, selected through district-level bootcamps
WE Reach: Telangana’s Bold Push to Empower Women Entrepreneurs in Tier 2 and 3 Cities
In a significant stride toward inclusive economic development, the Telangana government’s WE Hub has launched an inspiring initiative aimed at unlocking the untapped entrepreneurial potential of women in Tier 2 and Tier 3 regions. Named WE Reach, this programme is designed not only to create sustainable livelihoods but also to drive deep-rooted social transformation by enabling women to become confident, self-reliant business leaders.
A Mission Rooted in Inclusivity and Growth
At its core, WE Reach is more than just a business programme—it is a capacity-building ecosystem that connects aspiring women entrepreneurs with the skills, knowledge, mentorship, and institutional support needed to turn ideas into viable businesses. The initiative aims to bridge the urban-rural entrepreneurial divide by reaching women who traditionally lack access to structured business training and exposure.
The first two cohorts, comprising 120 women selected through district-level bootcamps, mark the formal launch of WE Reach. These participants are not just beneficiaries—they are changemakers, equipped to inspire others in their communities.
The Heart of the Programme: Capacity Building
What sets WE Reach apart is its strong focus on capacity building. The programme incorporates several components to ensure a well-rounded learning journey for the participants:
Business Skills Training: Women are taught the fundamentals of entrepreneurship—from identifying business opportunities to developing business models, marketing strategies, and managing operations. Financial and Digital Literacy: Understanding finances is crucial for any business. WE Reach includes training on budgeting, bookkeeping, accessing credit, and using digital platforms to manage business processes effectively. Mentorship: One-on-one guidance from experienced entrepreneurs, industry professionals, and business coaches helps participants overcome specific challenges and stay on track with their goals. Exposure Visits: Visits to functioning Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) give women practical insights into real-world operations and success stories. Assistance in Setting Up Units: The programme doesn’t stop at training. It extends to helping women actually set up their businesses, ensuring they have the tools, legal knowledge, and support to begin operations confidently.
Leadership Backing the Movement
During the launch, Hyderabad District Collector Hari Chandana Dasari highlighted the broader social impact of the programme:
“Empowering women entrepreneurs at the grassroots is crucial for inclusive development. Programmes like WE Reach not only create economic opportunities for women but also drive long-term social transformation in our communities.”
Her vision echoes the importance of lifting women at the local level, ensuring they are not left behind in the larger narrative of India’s economic progress.
